Our swinging moorings have proved successful and popular since 2000, and also fared well during Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
The combination of a sheltered location and a high specification mooring is a secure and cost effective method of storing boats for short or long term, and is recognized as so by most insurance companies.
In terms of security, Grenada generally has a good record, but boats on moorings are sometimes considered to be more vulnerable to theft. From the start of 2005, we have looked after approximately 40 boats on moorings in Hog Island, Clarkes Court Bay and Mount Hartman Bay and have had only 2 incidents of theft. In November 2007, a boat was broken into and some items removed, and in August 2008 an outboard was stolen from a stern rail. In both cases there was no damage to the boat.
