By the end of May, we hope all Island Dreams staff will be RYA certified.   Chris, Serrant and Sabrina are all undertaking RYA courses over the next 2 weeks, appropriate to their sailing experience and skills.

Grenada hosted its first Oyster Regatta in April, and the event has been hailed a great success.  In the words of one of the crews,

 

'You guys were a great help throughout the week. We had such a good time. I'm already looking forward to coming back next season... this time for a bit of me time - diving, hiking, dining out and spa treatments!'

These Regattas are open to all with the focus on fun - afloat and ashore. There are plenty of shorebased activities to occupy crews as well as those who are not sailing:

In April, Grenada is also hosting the 2011 Oyster Regatta for Oyster owners and their friends and family.

Chris and Jennifer have a baby daughter - born on Wednesday 8th September.  Mother and baby both fine, father rapidly getting used to fatherhood!

Island Dreams welcomes Serrant Edwards. Serrant joined Mark, Chris and Anita as a full time employee in June and is now very much part of the team. He is training with Island Dreams as part of the Youth Upliftment Program – a Government Training Initiative.

Help us raise funds for the local Infant School.  With over 100 pupils age 3 to 7, Woburn RC Infant School is where most children from the village of Woburn (including our own boys who left in 2008) start their school life.  With a very experienced and dedicated Principal and Staff, we are always happy to support their fundraising efforts.

The Grenada Cruising Permit Fee for visiting yachts is now charged monthly.  The changes will affect boats already in Grenada.  Once details have been confirmed by Customs, Island Dreams will contact owners of all boats in our care and make arrangements to ensure any fees are paid up to date.

Island Dreams new website includes a client login section.  This enables guardianage clients to see all the monthly check reports for their boats.  For boats with work underway, all worklists and photos relating to their boat and work projects will be displayed.
